My dream was I always wanted to be a teacher and a professional baseball player. After high school I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, when my tour of duty was up I began to work for Citibank in New York City, the financial capital of the world. I attended university in the evening and worked during the day. I graduated with two degrees a BS in Finance and a BA in Economics.
I have always been an active and curious person wanting to know what makes things tick and what the rest of the world is like, so I enjoy traveling. I was very athletic as a young boy and still enjoy a good workout and sports. My childhood dream was to be a teacher and now I am living my dream. I am a former Vice President of Citibank for 12 years and Morgan Stanley fixed income department for 6 years. I was President of my own small company V.P. Special Events for 10 years. I decided to retire early and enjoy my life and fulfill some of my dreams so I began teaching ESL in 1998 in New York's Chinatown. I came to Shenzhen in 2002 and began teaching privately then in Primary and middle schools. In 2003 I decided I wanted to stay in China and be part of the history that is changing China.

Greg McCain U.S.A
Greg McCain is from the United States and was born and raised in a small town in the mid-western state of Indiana. Shortly after graduating from his hometown high school, he enlisted in the US Army and was sent to South Korea. This was his first venture into a different culture. South Korea was a learning and enjoyable experience and stimulated a further desire to travel and learn about other cultures. As a courtesy from the US Army, Greg was sent to Saudi Arabia in 1991, in preparation for the war with Iraq, aptly titled Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After the conclusion of the war with Iraq, Greg returned to his home base at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he remained until his retirement from active duty in January 1993. After several months of much deserved rest and relaxation, Greg then enrolled in a nearby technical college (courtesy of the GI Bill), and took a course in small business management. In December 1994 Greg started up his own business as an independent contractor involved in the transportation and setup of prefabricated homes and commercial buildings. After about ten years of doing this, due to a downturn in the economy and rising costs of overhead (i.e. diesel fuel, labor and building materiel, etc.) Greg changed careers and decided to return to the middle east again and work for a US defense contractor in Iraq involved in the reconstruction of its war torn infrastructure. Due to the deteriorating security situation in Iraq, Greg decided his life was more important than money, and relocated to a safer country known as Qatar, a prosperous and progressive middle eastern country known for its vast natural gas reserves. While dining out one evening in the magnificent city of Doha at one of his favorite restaurants (The Great Wall Chinese Restaurant), he met a beautiful Chinese lady by the name of Chen Li, from the city of Dalian. Consequently, Greg and Chen Li, who was now his fiance, traveled and settled in Shenzhen and have since married. Greg, initially upon arriving in China, spent two months in Zuhai attending the TEFL course at the Gateway Language Village and has since been teaching English and enjoying his induction into Chinese culture and anticipates remaining in China for the foreseeable future.
